75-80% does not speak English as a native, nor even as a second language to any extent

75-80% does not speak English as a native, nor even as a second language to any extent
By Donna J. Jodhan extent.

When it comes to really understanding the landscape of our foreign markets, it would be really wise for us to keep a few things in mind if we want to attract foreign consumers.

Firstly, there is over 75% of the world's population whose first language is not English let alone speaking it as their second language.  We should not really be surprised by this; despite the fact that English is the language of business both on and off the Internet.  English has been the language of business for as long as we can remember but is this poised to change?  Is it possible that some other language in the not too distant future will overtake English as the one of business?  If so, which one?

Could it be Chinese; China has one of the fastest growing economies in the world today.  Could it be Spanish?  Or could it be one of the dark horses so to speak?  Whichever language it is, it would be prudent for us to keep an eye on this picture.
