Is it really true that Spanish is now more important than English? Many
Hispanics living in America may easily agree with you. Many South American
countries may also agree with you but...
Spanish is definitely growing in importance around the world but in my
opinion, English is still the dominant language but not by very much. The
Hispanic population is fast growing in the United States and this may put
more pressure on Americans to learn it as a second language. This may not
be a bad idea as it would open up lots of doors for job possibilities and
opportunities for translators, interpreters, and foreign language teachers.
In like manner, there are other languages that are also growing in
popularity; French, Chinese, and Asian dialects.
